The Temperature Inside Your Vehicle Can Impact Your Pet

During the summer months there are so many fun places to take your pet! Whether you enjoy hiking, going to the ocean or lake, or just taking a car ride around town, your pet is sure to be happy as long as they are with you.

Unfortunately, the summer months can be a very dangerous time for pets because of the hot weather. One of the biggest mistakes a pet owner can make is leaving their pet alone in the car. Leaving a pet alone in a vehicle could lead to your pet experiencing brain damage, vision loss, or even death.

While this reminder is important during the summer - it is important to keep this in mind all year long as extreme cold temperatures can also damage your pet.

If you ever come across a pet parked in a vehicle alone on a hot (or cold) day then call the non-emergency number of your local police or animal control center and give them information about the car’s location, make, model, and license plate number. By taking this action - you could be saving a pet’s life.
